Families in Transition VISTA Program

The Families in Transition VISTA Program is focused on improving the quality of life for the most disadvantaged members of New Hampshire communities. Our efforts are led by a remarkable team of AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) members from all over the country. Our capacity building VISTAs serve for one year at selected government and nonprofit organizations that provide critical services, training, and empowerment programs aimed at lifting residents up and out of the chains of poverty.

We have selected host sites across the state of New Hampshire for the 2013-2014 service year. VISTA volunteers will be recruited by the chosen sites from across the country to serve in New Hampshire beginning in July 2013. Our VISTA volunteers will perform a diverse range of duties, including volunteer recruitment and managements, grant writing, fundraising, research, program development and more.

AmeriCorps VISTA, a program of the Corporation for National & Community Service (CNCS), comprises a nationwide network of volunteers who commit to serve full-time for at least one year at nonprofit, faith-based, and government project sponsor sites working to fight poverty throughout the United States. VISTAs work to build capacity at agencies that serve their communities in the areas of education, veterans' services, economic opportunity, health, and disaster relief and prevention.
