We are a partnership of engaged entrepreneurs, thought leaders and social investors who catalyze social enterprise development in Rhode Island by providing social, intellectual, and financial capital.
SVPRI envisions Rhode Island as a national hub for social enterprise. We believe social enterprise is an essential component of a vibrant economy that:
Attracts entrepreneurs, ventures and revenues to Rhode Island;
Creates jobs for some of the most difficult to employ;
Alleviates the burden on social services;
Who We Serve
We serve social enterprises. Social enterprises are mission driven initiatives that apply market-based strategies, and entrepreneurship to maximize social impact. The movement includes non-profit, for-profit and hybrid models.
What We Do
We leverage cross-sector collaboration and serve a spectrum of social enterprises from start-up to scale through:
Connecting the social enterprise community;
Providing leveraged funding;
Aggregating and disseminating intellectual capital;
Providing mentoring and consulting; and
Responding to the evolving needs of the social enterprise community.
