About Us
A non-profit organization with 27 sites nation-wide, City Year unites young people of all backgrounds for a year of full-time education-focused service, giving them the skills and opportunities to change the world.
City Year's mission is to address the drop-out crisis in urban areas. As tutors, mentors, and role models, these leaders make a difference in the lives of children by providing specified interventions for their students in the areas of attendance, behavior, and course performance.
City Year also operates through physical service events to transform schools and neighborhoods across Chicago. Volunteers of all kinds are welcome at these community-building events.
City Year is a proud member of AmeriCorps.
