About us

First Voice Media

is building a lasting institution for women, people of color, and under-resourced communities to learn media skills and gain access to radio as a means of empowerment using mass communications and art.

an 18 month training program for under-represented voices for radio and digital platforms.   Learn all aspects of Radio Production, including sound recording, audio editing, Mixing, News writing, interviewing.............everything it takes to develop, produce and broadcast programs for radio and podcast. 

From the Director: If you are community minded and want to express the issues and concerns of your community, the First Voice Apprenticeship Program at KPFA Radio is now accepting applicants to learn broadcast and media making skills.
