About Us

The MacDella Cooper Foundation (MCF) is a 501c3 international charitable organization devoted to empowering Liberian youth, especially orphans and abandoned children, by providing education and basic necessities of food, clothing and shelter.

Ninety-five percent of all donations go directly to MCF’s charitable projects, administered by MCF Liberia and monitored by MCF New York.

The MCF Academy for orphans and abandoned children in Monrovia, Liberia is the first tuition free boarding school in post-war Liberia. The Academy opened its doors on Christmas Day 2010 for the first group of students and will ultimately house and educate 200 children.

On February 18th, 2011, MacDella Cooper and Thomas Tafuto launched L'Africana™ to support the mission of MCF. L’Africana™ is an open source Afrocentric brand that is being developed in collaboration with designers, artists, musicians, models and creative people from all over the world with one common goal: to make distinctive products, services and experiences that bring great enjoyment while doing good in the world.
