About us

Founded in 1977, the Center for Investigative Reporting (CIR) is the nation's oldest nonprofit investigative news organization. CIR provides the resources, increasingly rare in the journalism industry, for reporters to carry out in-depth investigations in the public interest. CIR develops these reports into multiple formats to reach wide audiences, and distributes these stories through top television, print, radio and web outlets.
