The Japanese American Service Committee (JASC) is a multi-faceted non-profit 501(c)3 organization that has been serving the community since 1946 when it was formed to assist the 20,000 - 30,000 persons of Japanese ancestry who were resettling in Chicago from the US wartime internment camps. The JASC is the largest organization of the Japanese American (JA) community in Chicago and serves as its primary center in Illinois, offering social services, innovative art and culture programs, a legacy center (archives & library) and public events which are open to all.
