Center for Applied Philanthropy - The Fund for Sustainability (CAP-TFS)

Boston, MA

About Us

The Center for Applied Philanthropy (CAP) is focused on increasing the understanding and use of new forms of capital to help leverage traditional capital. CAP believes that it can catalyze - by its actions, expertise, and focus on new capital targeted for non-profit growth in programs -- the adoption and use of non-traditional funding streams (program related investments (PRIs)). The Fund for Sustainability (TFS) is the Center’s demonstration fund, which will target programmatic expansion needs and make select PRI investments in non-profits and NGO entities operating in the health and human services, arts and culture, and education sectors. This fund will be initially supported by the founder and select foundations and interested individuals. Given today’s economic and philanthropic environment there is a critical need for significant and real changes in the way entities use philanthropic dollars and the way foundations and individuals deliver these dollars.
