Arab Association for Human Rights (HRA) is a Palestinian Arab NGO based in Nazareth. HRA is dedicated to promoting and protecting the rights of the Palestinian Arab minority within Israel. It is the sole Palestinian NGO working on these issues from an international human rights perspective.
HRA concentrates on three core programs. The Human and Civil Rights Education Program seeks to educate secondary school students, teachers, and the community at large about international human rights standards and how they apply to the Arab minority in Israel. The Research and Reporting Program, which includes a human rights monitoring program, whose methodology relies on field research and interviews and legal analysis of the domestic and international human rights laws. Finally, the United Nations / International Advocacy Program works through fora at the UN and the EU to bring international attention to discrimination faced by the Arab minority within Israel.
