About us

Casita Copán is a community organization dedicated to providing care for orphaned, abandoned, and vulnerable children and women in Copán Ruinas, Honduras. We are a registered 501(c) 3 United States nonprofit that provides direct services in Honduras. Our mission is to prevent child abandonment by nurturing orphaned and vulnerable children and supporting single mothers.

Casita Copán currently serves 53 children and 17 mothers through a range of programs. Our community center provides daytime care, nutritious food, clean water, medicine, clothing, education, tutoring and homework help, emotional support, and more to 53 children from the ages of one to sixteen. Casita Copán also cares for thirteen orphaned children through our “casitas” or permanent, family-style homes led by dedicated foster moms. Complementing our services for children, we operate several programs for women, including literacy classes, parenting workshops, and a sewing club.
