Genesee Valley Outdoor Learning Center

Genesee Valley Outdoor Learning Center is located in Parkton, Maryland, just twenty-five minutes north of Baltimore City and 30 minutes south of York, Pennsylvania.

As an educational non-profit organization, Genesee Valley has been serving children and adults for over thirty years. Developing more cohesive and effective groups in the classroom, around the office, on the field or at home is one of the primary goals of Genesee Valley Outdoor Learning Center. Our Experiential Education Program utilizes our challenge course to actively focus on developing improved communication, cooperation, healthy risk-taking, leadership, trust, persistence and creative problem solving skills. Individuals of all ages can come to our outdoor learning center for a day or several days to engage in games and problem solving activities, which utilize the low and high ropes course elements. There is more than just ‘fun’ to our program; our facilitators ‘debrief’ participants after activities and use the course to discuss ways to meet everyday life head on. Participants grow through both verbal discussions and physical challenges.

In addition to our innovative and unique teambuilding programs (with an overnight camping option) we also offer Spring Break Camp, Summer Camp, off-site team building programs (year-round), and off-site rock climbing expeditions.

Our 150-acre facility is also host to lacrosse, soccer, football, and field hockey practices and tournaments, trail runs, and family or corporate picnics. With all that our programs and property have to offer, we serve nearly 15,000 individuals annually.
