The U.S. Committee for the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) works to build greater awareness and support within the United States for the UN's efforts to relieve poverty in the world's poorest countries.

We recognize that only part of the struggle against extreme poverty takes place in the world's poorest countries. Another crucial contest must be won to educate and engage concerned Americans. Without public awareness and support, the eradication of poverty will continue to be an elusive victory.

Through education and advocacy the U.S. Committee for UNDP educates the U.S. public and policy makers about the United States' responsibility to support efforts to end extreme poverty and how U.S. engagement benefits us all.
