Portland Overdose Prevention Project (POPP)

About Us

The Portland Overdose Prevention Project is a not for profit, public health organization that seeks to reduce opiate overdose mortality. We are an education, outreach and advocacy project. We provide staff development training for service providers, and advocate for the establishment of sound policies around overdose prevention. We also provide direct services, putting the necessary tools and information in the hands of those most likely to be on hand as first responders; drug users. We view community efforts to provide drug users with access to basic services, and combating the stigma and discrimination that so often take away meaningful opportunities for positive change, as a struggle for social justice.
