Description

American Indian Public High School (AIPHS) is a Title I, California Distinguished School which serves 140 students in grades 9-12. With campuses in East Oakland and Downtown Oakland, AIPHS aims to provide students from the surrounding communities with access to high quality teachers and a college preparatory, standards-based curriculum. AIPHS's Academic Performance Index (API) of 976 out of 1000 makes us the highest ranked high school in Northern California and the third ranked high school in California.

Our curriculum meets, and in many cases exceeds, the state of California's graduation requirements and University of California's "a-g" requirements. Further, 100% of our students are enrolled in at least one Advanced Placement (AP) course. AIPHS students also boast a 100% graduation rate and a 100% 4-year college acceptance rate, including acceptances to MIT, Columbia, Stanford, Amherst, UC Berkeley, and other tier one universities.
