Habitat for Humanity of Oregon (HFHO) is a State Support Organization (SSO) providing fundraising, training and technical assistance, advocacy and disaster preparedness to all 30 Habitat for Humanity affiliates – the offices of dedicated staff and volunteers building and repairing homes across our state. Founded in 1996 through a covenant between Habitat for Humanity International and Oregon Habitat affiliates, HFHO plays an important role by helping local Habitat affiliates build resources and best serve their communities.
Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization. Founded in Americus, Georgia, USA, in 1976, Habitat for Humanity now operates around the globe and has helped build, renovate and repair more than 600,000 affordable houses sheltering more than 3 million people worldwide. Habitat for Humanity affiliates have provided housing to more than 3 million people in more than 3,000 communities around the world. There are approximately 1,500 local Habitat affiliates in the United States and more than 80 national organizations around the world.
