The mission of The Chiles Academy is to combine a community of support and guidance for school-age parents with the goal of attaining a high school diploma, which will empower them to become independent and responsible citizens.
The Chiles Academy is seeking a full time certified Food Manager to operate a commercial kitchen and prepare on a daily basis, breakfast, lunch, and snack for our teen parents (60), their children (50), the staff (50), and our Early Head Start children (50). The applicant must be willing to buy into the vision, purpose, and use of a community garden at our school, specifically in relation to the link between gardens and nutrition. The long range goal is to incorporate the use of a garden into the standard based curricula materials with teacher and staff training in relation to gardening and nutrition.
The Cafeteria Manager will be required to complete the paperwork for federal, state, and county food programs. This is a full time position (11 months) at a salary of $30,000 with full benefits, including health insurance.
