Lemonade Day Chicago

About Us

Lemonade Day is a free, annual, community-wide, educational initiative designed to teach children how to start, own, and operate their own business - a lemonade stand. Though a pre-designed curriculum, which can be delivered by teachers or another caring adult, Kids of all ages learn to set goals, develop a plan, secure an investor, create a product, make a profit, and give back to their community. Last year nationally, children who participated in Lemonade Day poured over 5 million glasses of lemonade with total revenues of over almost 7 million and raised over 2 million dollars for charities. This year, Lemonade Day in Chicago will be on May 6th. Our goal for 2012 is to light the passion for entrepreneurship in over 5,000 students and position Lemonade Day for success in future years.

Lemonade Day is bringing together a diverse group of partners to literally turn lemons into lemonade. Lemonade day is sponsored by the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce, CME, Spark Energy, Chicago Public Schools and the City of Chicago. If you would like to join this network and provide your students with an engaging and hands-on experience, please contact Nick Prestemon, City Director for Lemonade Day (nick@lemonadeday.org).
