The Kenneth B. Schwartz Center

About Us

The Schwartz Center is small non-profit organization, which is dedicated to strengthening the relationship between patients and caregivers through education, training and support programs for clinicians, and public education. Ken Schwartz was a health care attorney who died of lung cancer in 1995. Shortly before his death he established the Center to promote a health care system in which caregivers are compassionate, engaged and able to spend the necessary time with patients, addressing their medical and emotional needs. The Center raises its own funds through a major annual event in the fall, several smaller fundraising events throughout the year, and general direct mail fundraising appeals. A 24-member Board of Directors that includes many professionals and experts in the health care field oversees the Center.
