Arrow Kenya, a registered non-profit making organization, opened Arrow Web Hospital in February of 2005 as a clinic located in a 2-room house. We began with 3 staff members - a nurse, a laboratory technician and receptionist. We operated in this 2-room house until November of 2006. By this time, the community demand for our services was very high. We had registered more than 5,000 patients.
We focus on providing primary care, HIV/AIDS mitigation, family planning, ante-natal care, prevention of mother-to-child transmission and we also operate a rescue center for woman and girls who have been sexually assaulted. The hospital provides medical in and outpatient care, laboratory services, and an urgent care centre. The hospital has registered more than 78,000 patients to date. The hospital treats approximately 250 patients per week.. Our main purpose is to improve the lives of countless suffering people in the slums of Kayole-Soweto.
The Kayole-Soweto Villages in the Embakasi division around Nairobi have an estimated population of more than 800,000. The majority of people living here earn less than a dollar a day.
We need volunteers to help the project realize they mission and vision of helping the countless suffering community nd mostly children and mothers.
