About Us

Project Access Northwest will improve community health by connecting those most vulnerable to vital health care services.

More than 785,000 people live in poverty and 428,000 cannot afford or do not have access to health insurance in Washington state. Project Access Northwest was founded in 2006 to serve and empower patients in King County Washington to navigate the complex health care system so they can live healthier, productive lives.

Project Access Northwest’s Care Coordination program has since expanded to include patients in Kitsap and Snohomish counties. Project Access Northwest has also expanded to address dental clearance needs of kidney transplant candidates and to offer a state-wide premium assistance program.

Project Access Northwest’s history includes programs to reduce preventable emergency department visits and facilitate safe discharge planning to help prevent future hospital readmissions and coordinate patient care after hospital discharge.
