Wellington Travel Basketball Association

About Us

The Wellington Travel Basketball Association (WTBA) was formed as a 501 C (3) non-profit organization in 2002. The WTBA is a recognized sports provider for the Village of Wellington and operates under the Sports Provider policies and guidelines approved by Village Council and administered by the Recreation Department. In addition, the association is operated and governed by an elected volunteer Board of Directors.
The WTBA is funded through reasonable participation fees, the generosity of sponsors in the community, and fundraising events. Our largest fundraising event is our annual tournament. The tournament, known as the Rosner's Wellington Shootout in the past, was first held in 2004 and quickly became a first class event. The tournament has evolved into the "Wellington March Madness Invitational Tournament" which is every March in and around the Village of Wellington.

WTBA MISSION STATEMENT The WTBA will strive to create an environment for the youth in the Western Communities; in which the fundamental skills, strategy, and history of the game of Basketball will be taught enabling the participants to have a successful Middle an High School career. Sportsmanship, Citizenship, and Education will be important components of this environment.
