    Knowledge Through Wilderness Adventure. The Cottonwood Gulch Foundation sponsors educational wilderness expeditions and outdoor programs in the American Southwest that promote personal growth, scientific, historic, and cultural discovery as well as a knowledgeable environmental ethic among all those who participate. The Foundation has 80 years of experience behind its wilderness education courses for young adults, ages 10-19. Programs include summer wilderness courses, adventure and project courses for schools, and a summer field school in archaeology and ecology. Cottonwood Gulch manages a nature preserve and experiential learning center in New Mexico.

    The Foundation is an educational 501(c)(3) organization.
