COACH

COACH is a non-profit organisation that runs three children’s homes in Johannesburg, namely St George’s Home for boys and girls in Kempton Park and St Nicolas Home for boys and St Joseph’s Home for girls, both situated in Sophiatown. All the children in our care are placed with us in terms of Children’s Court orders and have experienced both neglect and abuse (physical, sexual and emotional).

COACH believes that every child has the potential to achieve greatness. Every day we strive to ensure that the children in our care know that someone cares about them, that they have a place in this world, that they matter, and that someone believes in them.

Our primary purpose is to fulfill the needs of the children in our care. Many of our young people have suffered a great deal of pain, trauma and trying times.

Children come to us angry, abused, neglected and uncared for.

Our devoted professionals begin the process of identifying the needs and drawing up solutions from the initial stages of admission.

Much effort is put into to this process as it requires many details on many different levels. Issues are dealt with children from the age of 6 up until the age of 18 and 21 where necessary.

Our various component programmes address specific issues ranging from therapeutic care, life skills, education as well as day to day living skills.

With all of our programmes, we are able to develop our children and their skills to cope in society as well as progress academically to work towards a better and brighter future.
