About us

Hope Works is a community development subsidiary of Living Hope Church, a Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) church based in the Woodlawn neighborhood of the South Side of Chicago. Founded in January 2014, Hope Works seeks to build and implement sustainable solutions to the five key needs within our neighborhood: (1) economic development and employment, (2) housing, (3) youth and familial development, (4) education, and (5) healthcare. Our vision is one of holistic flourishing that views these community problems as individual parts of a broken whole system.

To-date, LHC is building the capacity to launch programming in small business development through the deployment of a small business development center and a micro-equity fund and youth entrepreneurship development through a Youth Creativity Zone focused on STEM education, innovation training, and mental health.
