About Us

Hudson River Housing, Inc. (HRH) is a nonprofit organization with substantial experience developing and managing affordable housing in our communities. HRH was created in 1982 to address the emerging homeless problem in Dutchess County, and is now a large, multi-service provider of housing and other services to a wide range of underserved populations.

Since our founding in 1982, we have grown from one program designed to house the homeless, to twenty-five separate programs offering housing and supportive services, including a full-service NeighborWorks® HomeOwnership Center.

In 2008, we served over 2,000 individuals and households. We have developed 625 units of housing, and currently manage 453 units. The expertise of HRH is relied upon to inform local planning related to homelessness, housing and community development. We also provide a variety of services to populations with mental health issues, chemical dependencies, victims of domestic violence, and low- and moderate-income households in general.

To achieve our mission, HRH operates four primary lines of business: Real Estate Development, Asset and Property Management, Support Services, and Homeownership Promotion and Preservation.
