About Us
Universidad Popular (UP) is a community organization committed to community empowerment through participatory education. We work in partnershio with community residents and organizations to transform their lives and ultimately, the community.
Over the course of more than 45 years, UP has evolved from a peer-advocacy group to a non-profit organization that serves over 2,000 people every year. UP's programs currently include: Adult and Family Literacy; Computer Literacy; Health Education Seminars; Financial Literacy, Microbusiness; and UPrising Youth Program. We work with, by, and for the people to develop programs that meet the needs of the neighborhoods it serves.
