Founded in 1954, the American College of Preventive Medicine (ACPM) is the preeminent national professional society for physicians committed to disease prevention and health promotion. ACPM provides leadership in the science, policy, and practice of preventive medicine. ACPM seeks to improve population health status through evidence-based disease prevention and health promotion research, policies, practices, and programs. ACPM represents over 2,000 preventive medicine physicians working in such fields as public health and healthcare administration, quality improvement, outbreak surveillance and investigation, teaching, research, clinical practice, corporate counsel, and public policy development, to name just a few.
