HealthCorps is a national non-profit shaping a new generation by building a movement to fight childhood obesity.
Sunnyside High School in Fresno, CA is one of 66 high schools nation-wide that combines direct health education, advocacy and student leadership to create a healthier and pro-active generation.
As a HealthCorps Coordinator, Sunnyside High School now has health education in 10 classes each week, weekly Mindfulness Meditation sessions, Zumba, monthly health activities and numerous other activities like 2-week intensive yoga classes in PE, guest speakers (like sports nutrition for the athletes), after school cooking workshops and staff wellness.
