About Us

Life Rolls On Foundation (LRO) is a subsidiary of the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation and is one of the fastest growing, contemporary, non-profit organizations in the country.

Founded by surfer Jesse Billauer, LRO is not a traditional non-profit, having solid ties within the entertainment and sports industries. For the last nine years, it has been the official charity of the US Open of Surfing and just some of Life Rolls On’s long-list of celebrity supporters are: Kelly Slater, Rob Machado, Jason Mraz, Paris Hilton, Kim Kardashian, Incubus, Benji & Joel Madden, and Coldplay. The organization has also been featured in national print, television and radio, including The Today Show, Dateline NBC, Good Morning America, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Los Angeles Times, In Touch, NY Post, People, The Chronicle of Philanthropy and KROQ.

Dedicated to improving the quality of life for young people affected by spinal cord injury (SCI), Life Rolls On utilizes action sports to push the boundary of possibility for those with SCI. Its signature program, “They Will Surf Again,” teams disabled surfers with able-bodied volunteers and adaptive surf equipment, so they can experience the freedom and mobility of riding a wave.
