Sacred Valley Health

Sacred Valley Health is a US based non-profit located in Ollantaytambo, Peru whose devoted team of Peruvian and foreign staff and volunteers work to diminish health disparities in the Sacred Valley of Peru. Guided by the 3 pillars of education, access and empowerment, the organization has a well-established and successful community health worker (promotora) program which trains local lay health workers in health education and basic medical decision making.

Sacred Valley Health’s mission is to promote health in the underserved rural communities of Peru’s Sacred Valley. With the vision of all rural inhabitants of the Sacred Valley having access to quality health care services, achieved through the presence of at least one trained community health worker in each community serving as an agent of change, and a health advocate for his or her neighbors.
