It is the NRCDV’s mission to improve societal and community responses to domestic violence and, ultimately, prevent its occurrence. We provide a wide range of free, comprehensive, and individualized technical assistance, training, and specialized resource materials and projects designed to enhance current intervention and prevention strategies.
BRIEF ORGANIZATIONAL HISTORY
After being established in 1993 with funding from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), NRCDV operated as a national project housed within the structure of the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Domestic Violence (PCADV) before spinning off an independent organization in 2011. Today, through its many key initiatives such as VAWnet, the Domestic Violence Awareness Project, Building Comprehensive Solutions to Domestic Violence and the Domestic Violence Evidence Project, NRCDV works collaboratively to improve community response to domestic violence and, ultimately, prevent its occurrence. NRCDV’s comprehensive technical assistance, training and resource development are just a few examples of the many ways in which it broadly serves those dedicated to ending domestic violence in relationships and communities.
NRCDV has office in both Washington D.C. and Harrisburg, PA.
