About Us

Christian Help, Inc. (CHI) is a nondenominational, nonprofit organization founded in 1975 to assist residents of north central West Virginia with emergency needs. The operating principles of CHI are simple-- to serve the less fortunate freely with what resources it has to offer and to do so in a Christ-like manner. Our agency is unique in the fact that all services are free to the public.

CHI is located in a five-story building in downtown Morgantown and has a total of five programs. These programs include: Emergency Financial Assistance, Free Clothing Store, Furniture Exchange, Food Pantry, and The Career Closets.

We strive to reach out to those in our community who have been traditionally left out of the richness of our society and embrace them with the presence of Christian compassion as well as an opportunity for success in our economy. It is our belief that the elimination of poverty from our area does not have to be a dream, but that it can be realized through the dedication of individuals and groups who share in our vision, act upon it and continue to pray for its achievement.
