About Us

Mission:

HopeLine, Inc. is a family of confidential services offering caring, non-judgmental listening and resource information in an effort to improve the overall well being of people in the community.

Description:

One of HopeLine’s main programs is our crisis line. The crisis line is available to the community 24 hours/ 7 days a week. It is a free and confidential service. Highly trained crisis counselors staff the line to ensure quality of services. Our training for the line covers issues such as (but not limited to) suicide, domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, mental health, substance abuse, and training in techniques such as active listening. The crisis line is open to anyone, at anytime – even if they are not experiencing a crisis situation. Our service also connects clients with other organizations in the area that may aid the client further. HopeLine gives many referrals when necessary and provides support through the latest research-based techniques.

Teen Talk Line, a service catered specifically towards adolescents and teens, is another free service provided by HopeLine. Crisis counselors undergo training specific to teen issues such as peer pressure, sexuality, gang membership, and violence. This service is carried out on the crisis line. If a client identifies themselves in the adolescent age range, crisis counselors are equipped with special information about the teen population. Along with the crisis line, this service is confidential and available 24 hours/ 7 days a week. Teen Talk Line will also provide referrals as needed.

HopeLine offers a special program targeted towards the elder community in the Triangle area. This program provides a daily call to check on clients, providing peace of mind to the client and the client’s family. Crisis counselors are equipped with emergency contacts in the event they are unable to reach the client. Most of the client's contacted have little to no interaction with anyone each day aside from a social worker, aid or meals on wheels. This program provides clients with a human connection and to know that someone cares. This program is free of charge and anyone can sign up at anytime.
