About Us

Somali Kids Tutoring Service (SKTS) is a private non-profit tutoring, basic computer learning, and youth soccer organization in Seattle, Washington. We provide free services to Somali bilingual students and adults, because many Somali children did not have a schooling opportunity before coming to the USA. They are graded based on their age not academic level.

The need to help the children develop language skills and an academic background is indispensable to the future of the children. Our program has appropriate environment culturally, bilingual staff in English and Somali, emphasis on academic success, parents are pleased with program, substantial change in the students’ performance, and building students’ confidence. We want to empower a new generation of bold, courageous students, to enrich the learning experience, teach civic responsibility, and strengthen our communities.

SKTSprogram was created to enable the youth to become leaders in both their native community as well as their adopted community. Our program has several entities to enable our organization to provide services to our youth throughout the calendar year using a holistic approach. Our programs include an After School Program, Technology Program, spring and Summer Soccer Program. SKTS serves youth between the ages of 5 to 14 years old.

SKTS provides one-on-one tutoring and basic computer learning program with low-income Somali’s live in Puget Sound Area. Our tutors are helping Somali Students to improve their grade, raise their test score, learn productive study skills, build their academic self-confidence, and reach their full potential. We serve students of all ages; pre-kindergarten through middle school students and tutoring is available in all cores subjects-reading, writing, mathematics, science and history and well as study skills.
