M-POWER, Inc.

M-POWER is a statewide, consumer-run, consumer-staffed organization of mental health consumer/survivor/ex-patients. Organized in 1987, we work to bring about a mental health system in Massachusetts that is recovery-oriented, person-centered and community-based. Our training unit coaches consumer-leaders in the skills needed to have a genuine voice in developing and implementing mental health services. We train and provide internships to consumers to become peer advocates. We offer a training series for providers of mental health serices. We train and support youth to engage in planning mental health policy. We produce a quarterly newsletter and maintain a website www.m-power.org that keeps consumers connected.
