City of Fairfax Band Association

Since 1969, The City of Fairfax Band Association, Inc. has entertained audiences with an eclectic mix of symphonic instrumental music in a five-concert subscription series and an extended summer series of free outdoor performances. Under the leadership of Music Director Robert Pouliot, more than 120 volunteer instrumentalists perform in seven ensembles including the City of Fairfax Band, Alte Kameraden German Band, Fairfax Saxophone Quartet, Fairfax Swing Band, Potomac Brass Quintet, Rebel Run Dixieland Band, and Just Jazz Septet. Nationally recognized for excellence, the organization has performed at Wolf Trap Farm Park for the Performing Arts, the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the Washington, D.C. Convention Center, the annual Independence Day Celebration in Fairfax, and numerous other cultural and civic events and venues. It was recognized by the Philip Sousa Foundation as a recipient of the Sudler Silver Scroll Award.
