About Us

Operation USA is an international humanitarian aid organization working at the grassroots level with other non profits at home and abroad to provide emergency aid as well as long term recovery and development assistance. As a small organization, we work hard to address a number of humanitarian causes, but focus on what we know and do best -- provide access to healthcare and education for communities here in the United States and across the globe. By listening to community voices, our efforts help to alleviate hunger and disease and promote capacity building and livelihood advancement.

We have been involved in recovery and reconstruction phases for many large scale disasters, including the 2004 Tsunami, Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, the 2007 Peru Earthquake, Cyclone Nargis, the recent China Earthquake and, most recently, we are responding to Hurricanes Gustav and Ike.

In addition, our landmine technology project led us to exciting new technologies to find and map scarce water resources; we have over 6000 women on microcredit loans in Vietnam and Nicaragua; our work in Iraq, Iran, Cuba and North Korea has gained us plaudits for "creative audacity".

Operation USA is a privately funded organization and all of our work is done without any U.S. government funding, unusual for a major relief agency.
