Today, GLAHR utilizes community organizing as a tool to develop grassroots leadership in different Latino immigrant communities in GA. We work in both the Atlanta Metro area but we also work with many rural Latino communities. Through our leadership development workshops, individuals learn to advocate on their own behalf. We also believe it is important to raise awareness; we share information so that community members can make informed decisions and take action in defense of their civil and human rights. Overall, we create a space for the empowerment of low-income Latinos, regardless of immigration status. We also strive to create and encourage a coordinated effort between the Latino community and other non-Latino leaders and community organizations in the search for the social justice & well-being of marginalized and exploited communities.
