About Us

The Louisiana Capital Area CHADD is a group of parents, teachers and others who interact with individuals who have ADD or ADHD. We are advised by a group of professionals from medical, legal, educational, and other disciplines. At each monthly meeting at the Jones Creek Library there is either a guest speaker from the local community (a physician, attorney, psychologist,or educator), or there is an open group discussion. Parents, spouses, family members and professionals are able to talk about their own experiences with Attention Deficit Disorder. Most meetings are scheduled for the 4th Sunday of the month at 2:30 P.M. ADDult Support meetings are held at 7:30 PM on the third Monday of most months at the Goodwood Library. Those who deal with ADD/ADHD individuals frequently face confusion and misunderstanding regarding the behaviors these children or adults exhibit. The Capital Area CHADD works to provide the latest information available on these disorders. In addition, the officers and Board members are just a phone call away when you have a question, need a referral or suggestion, or just an understanding ear.
