About Us

Vision Statement:

Creating a diverse and politically powerful union of non-represented workers in Arizona to promote work place justice and community building.

Mission Statement:

AIAWJ challenges workplace injustice by collaborating with, educating, and mobilizing working people, providing direct services and assistance, developing leadership, and advocating for just labor policy and practice. Through strategic collaborative efforts, we strive to develop political consciousness and civic engagement for a worker friendly Arizona.

Description: The organization values community building, democratic participation, diversity and shared leadership, and strives to be member-led and community based. Staff members work in a collective leadership model as co-directors, and our members and allies serve on the Board of Directors. We provide labor rights training, direct services and assistance to low-income workers, develop leadership among our members, and push legislation that will improve the day-to-day lives of working people.
