Partners Mentoring Youth

About Us

Partners Mentoring Youth is a local United Way non-profit agency.  Our mission is to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships between positive adult role models and youth facing challenges in their personal, social, and academic lives.

We are the most comprehensive one-to-one youth mentoring program in Northern Colorado, exceptional at matching youth (Junior Partners) with volunteer mentors (Senior Partners) and supporting their relationship.  We provide 24/7 case support, mentor training sessions, and offer interesting activities to do throughout Greeley and Colorado.

Mentoring is a well-documented prevention strategy for positive youth development.  Consistent with national research behind mentoring, we know that our mentoring programs work. Our evaluation results show that after just one year in our mentoring program, our youth have:

·         Greater sense of hope

·         Increased self-esteem

·         Increased academic achievement

·         Less delinquent behavior and substance use

Our youth, boys and girls ages 7-17, are referred by professionals in the community (school counselors, therapists, etc.) because they are experiencing circumstances that put them at risk of not reaching their full potential in life (poverty, abuse, mental health issues, family instability, etc.)  They are great kids with a great potential to succeed, but need a little extra support.

Currently, there are over 25 extraordinary kids waiting for a mentor.  The need is there.  So much so, we’ve had to defer kids from joining our wait list.  All we need are a few positive role models to step up and help change a kid’s life and the community around them.
