The Mimi Foundation

The Mimi Foundation is a nonprofit organization that connects our special needs community to life-enriching services, supports and resources. With proposed budget cuts of $568.9 million for Health and Human Services of 2011, funding with families with special needs children will decrease from $550 to $175. This is hardly enough to sustain the proper therapy and equipment necessary for a special needs child's healthy development.

The Mimi Foundation was founded on the principal that every child deserves to be connected with the proper care and equipment necessary for their healthy development. The foundation depends on the generosity of local businesses and foundations to help fund these families.

We not only focus on funds, but on emotional well-being as well by holding monthly play-dates for families and children to connect with others in similar situations. These family-friendly excursions allow parents and children alike to relax and interact with other local families familiar with the challenges and rewards of living with special needs.
