Association for Sustainable Community Development(ASSCOD)

ASSCOD is an NGO working mainly among lower caste families living below the poverty line, mostly in the rural areas of Cheyyar and Vandavasi Blocks of Thiruvannamalai District in Tamil Nadu, India. With a focus on empowering rural women and their families, ASSCOD works to facilitate economic and social development, establish educational opportunities and enable health improvements.

ASSCOD is also devoted to implementing new projects as opportunities arise (e.g. tsunami relief and rehabilitation, response to urgent medical needs), and also to partnering with and supporting other local grassroots organizations.

ASSCOD currently employs 10 full-time staff and 2 part-time staff in 3 offices: its headquarters in Karunghuzi (Kancheepuram District) and 2 field offices in Cheyyar and Vandavasi (Thiruvannamalai District).
