About Us

The Green Media Arts Center in Oakland, California (2781 Telegraph Ave.) is now hiring. The Center is a project collaboration between the Art in Action (www.artinactionworld.org), Grind for the Green (www.grindforthegreen.org) and Weapons of Mass Expression (www.weekendwakeup.org) non-profit organizations. The Center will serve youth ages 13-24. The Center will house various community programs, including the Turf Unity Music Project and Peapod Academy media arts programs. The media arts program will consist of music production, graphic arts design, video production and internet distribution. Other art forms that will be taught at the program include dance, theater, mural making, visual arts and permaculture gardening. There will be youth leadership development trainings, case management, business incubation workshops and other life skills programs offered at the center. The project is part of a network of organizations serving the Bay Area, and will be a multicultural intergenerational healing arts center that utilizes green building materials and sustainable technologies.
