About Us

The California Autism Foundation is a private non-profit agency whose mission is to give people with developmental disabilities individualized opportunities to live, learn and work in their community. Founded in 1982, our foundation currently serves over 200 children and adults and their families. Six programs provide innovative life-long services: nine residential homes, a school program, a behavioral day program, a site based work activity program, a supported employment program and supported living services. The home, school and behavioral day programs specialize in supporting people with autism and emotional disturbances using a successful holistic approach. The focus of these community programs is to provide the students and consumers with a positive self-image, communication skills, life long education, community recreation and independent living skills, self-expression through creative arts, service learning and vocational skills. Staffing is intensive and includes clinicians, teachers and therapists.
