Future Leaders Underprivileged Children's Centre (UCC)

Future Leaders Underprivileged Children's Centre (UCC) is a grassroots education and community development project based in Teshie, Accra. We are a registered Ghanaian charity, providing free primary schooling to local children who cannot afford to go to government school and free vocational training in seamstressing and beauty therapy to local women without a trade or complete education. We also coach 6 successful football teams and a netball team for both children and adults in our community.

The children we educate at our project would not normally receive an education as their parents/carers cannot afford to pay the additional fees ( registration, exam, desk fees etc.) associated with 'free' government schools, nor afford to buy books, stationary, uniforms or transport to and from school. We provide it all for free.

We have been helped by volunteers at our project for many years, and now have a dedicated volunteer programme which places and accommodates volunteers from all backgrounds at our centre. 100% of proceeds from our volunteer project are donated to cover the running cost of the centre.
