About us

For over four decades, the
Association for the Advancement of
Blind and Retarded, Inc. (AABR)
aspired to attain this dream, " That
Each Life May  Find Meaning."
Started as a small parent-founded
recreation program for severely
retarded and blind children, the
organizations serves over 1000
children and adults with
developmental disabilities
in the New York Metropolitan area.

Compelled by our mission, we
continue to meet the needs of our
consumers by offering an Adult Day
Treatment Program, Day Habilitation
Program, Family Services,
Recreation Programs, Vacation
Retreats, Residential Services, Thrift
Shop Program and our New York
Child Learning Institute, a school for
children with autism.
