About us

The Masorti Foundation for Conservative Judaism in Israel disseminates information about and raises funds to support the Masorti/Conservative Movement in Israel. Today, throughout Israel, there are more then 50 kehillot (congregations) of the Masorti Movement, comprised of sabras (native Israelis) and olim (immigrants) from countries around the world. The movement promotes traditional, halakhic observance within a contemporary framework of religious tolerance, pluralism and egalitarian worship. Masorti communities also value community service and social justice, providing programs and services to assist disadvantaged members of the community, aid in assimilation of new immigrants and reach out to the public at-large with educational and social programming for youth and adults. The movement's national programming includes the Religious Affairs Bureau, which advocates for equal funding and recognition for all Jewish denominations within the State of Israel and provides access to egalitarian life cycle events; the NOAM youth movement; RAMAH-NOAM Summer Camp; MAROM network for college-age and young adults; and the Bar/Bat Mitzvah Program for Children with Special Needs, Israel's only program to offer Jewish enrichment and bar/bat mitzvah to this vulnerable population.
