About Us

The PPD/TMS Peer Network, Inc. is a peer led non-profit organization which focuses on helping people overcome chronic pain and medically unexplained symptoms. Our mission is to relieve suffering from Tension Myositis Syndrome (TMS) by raising awareness of the ideas developed by John E. Sarno, MD, providing information based on scientific evidence, facilitating expression of a wide variety of perspectives, and giving individual support to people with TMS. Our programs include: the TMS Wiki, a TMS forum, a weekly chat room, the Thank You Dr. Sarno project, Peer Supervision Teleconferences for psychotherapists, and an active mailing list for medical and mental health practitioners.

We strive to support people with TMS because the mind body approach worked in curing our chronic symptoms. As people who went through the experience of having chronic pain and recovering from it, we strive to share our experiences with others and help them, not as practitioners, but as a community of friends and peers. We seek to empower people to take control of their own healing and live pain free lives.
