About Us
It all started here! The organization that was to become Room to Read was launched from a Belltown Starbucks in the late summer of 1999. Originally, back when it was “Books for Nepal”, the Seattle Chapter was made up of backpackers, climbers and trekkers. The late world record, high altitude climber, Christine Boskoff was one of Room to Read’s first supporters and Board Members.
Room to Read is looking for volunteers in the Seattle area. If you share our belief that world change starts with educated children and would like to support our cause please contact us.
